🌟 Why I’m Running
I’m running for Lake Stevens City Council because I believe it's time to give our community its voice back. It’s time to rebuild trust in our local government and make sure every decision is made with transparency, accountability, and your input at heart. Lake Stevens deserves leadership that listens—and acts—with integrity.
✅ Priority 1: Transparent and Accountable Government
Restore Trust Through Openness
Our city government should work for us, not behind closed doors. It's time to shine a light on who is making decisions, why they're being made, and how they're impacting our daily lives.
My commitments:
Mandate disclosure of conflicts of interest
Prohibit backdoor deals with developers and special interests
Require clear, accessible communication from city leadership
Publish decision-making processes in plain language
Empower Citizens
A strong democracy depends on an engaged community. I want everyone to feel welcome to speak up, ask questions, and help shape the future of Lake Stevens.
I’ll advocate for:
Regular town halls with Q&A opportunities
Stronger citizen advisory boards
Open dialogue between residents and council members
An independent ethics commission to ensure oversight
🚓 Priority 2: Community-Centered Public Safety
Public safety means more than just reducing crime—it means building trust, creating opportunities for youth, and ensuring everyone feels secure in their homes and neighborhoods.
Partner with Law Enforcement and the Community
Increase police visibility with foot patrols downtown during busy seasons
Foster community policing and social media engagement
Boost participation in Citizens Academy and the Police Explorer Program
Invest in Our Youth
Create safe, inclusive spaces like a teen park in North Cove/Downtown
Work with the Lake Stevens Youth Coalition and others to hold events for teens
Develop mentorship programs connecting youth with LSPD officers
Actively seek youth feedback and ideas
Educate and Empower Residents
Host safety workshops on police protocol and home protection
Promote neighborhood block watches and HOA trainings
Support vulnerable community members with targeted outreach
💼 Priority 3: Responsible and Smart Economic Growth
Lake Stevens is growing—and we need to make sure that growth works for everyone, not just developers or big business.
Support Local Businesses and Events
Provide incentives for small businesses to open and stay in Lake Stevens
Use public spaces creatively for pop-ups and indoor markets year-round
Expand opportunities for local entrepreneurs at community events
Grow with Purpose
Prioritize infrastructure that supports responsible development
Advocate for real affordable housing—not just buzzwords
Hold developers accountable for impacts on roads, schools, and public services
Protect the environment and our beautiful lake from overdevelopment
Preserve Our History, Prepare for Our Future
As a 5th-generation Washingtonian and proud family historian, I understand the value of heritage. Let’s protect what makes Lake Stevens unique—especially our Old Town—and plan growth that honors our roots.
💬 Final Word
While on City Council, I will be a voice for you—your concerns, your ideas, and your future. Together, we can build a Lake Stevens where trust in government is restored, our community is safe and connected, and growth is guided by values, not just profits.
Let’s bring the power back to the people.
